AIM
The aim of this course is to provide military officers and nco‘s with the skills and knowledge to enable them to fulfil their duties as a Liaison Officer or as a member of a Liaison & Observation/Monitoring Team in a P(S)O.
As contribution to a comprehensive training approach, the “Expert on Mission” – Courses of AUTINT include the training of Liaison-, CIMIC-, Field Humint- and PSYOPS-elements. The students of the different modules attend the same lecturesand exercises in the first week (basic module) and continue afterwards with their specialised training.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
After completing the course the participants are expected to be able to perform their respective duties in the framework of P(s)O.
The training during the course will consist of:
Lectures
Practical training and exercises
1 week with various Field Training Exercises

P(S)O Basics [diversity of components in P(S)O]
International Organisations (e.g. UNHCR, ICRC, EU, GOs, NGOs)
P(S)O mission tasks and operating techniques
Intra and Inter-Cultural awareness
Liaison techniques
Conduct of Conversations/Negotiations
Conduct and Organisation of Meetings
ReportingManagement of a LOT/LMT House
Stress Management
Media awareness and public relations
REQUIREMENTS:
Military Officers from Rank OF-1 to OF-4
NCOs from Rank OR-5 to OR-9
Level of English:
Officers: NATO level 3/3/3/2 in accordance with STANAG 6001
NCOs: NATO level 2/2/2/1 in accordance with STANAG 6001

This course is designed to develop the professional knowledge and skills of Officers and NCOs for an appointment as a member of a Field Humint Team in a Peace Support Mission.
As contribution to a comprehensive training approach, the “Expert on Mission” - Courses of AUTINT include the training of Liaison-, CIMIC-, Field Humint- and PSYOPS-elements.
